Spring D

Submitted by neillisa

Spring has started, and if you\'re like most people, the first thing you\'ll probably do is pull up the shades and let in the warm sunshine. The best way to welcome the new season is to jazz up your home with appropriate décor. After all, we\'re more than willing to drive off the last traces of winter and welcome the fresh breeze back into our homes.

Decorating for spring is a lot simpler than it seems. The easiest way to do it is to change your color scheme. Winter décor often favors deep, warm colors like copper and brown, which add a cozy feel to the room. Spring, on the other hand, is all about bright colors and earth tones. Take down the gloomy drapes and replace them with light, breezy curtains that diffuse the sunlight and cast a soft glow over the room.

Next, channel the outdoors by adding a few natural elements. Put a fresh bouquet on the table, bring out the wood furniture, or add some stone pieces to your centerpieces. Put an indoor plant in an unused corner or hang some pots by the window. Or if you\'re not feeling too creative, simply open up the windows and treat yourself to a good view.

If you want, you can take your cue from Asian décor and set up an outdoor entertainment area, such as your backyard or patio. Asians are known for blurring the lines between the indoors and the outdoors, so that you never really know where one ends and the other starts. This style not only extends your living space, it also allows you to enjoy the good weather even when you\'re stuck at home.

Area rugs are also a great way to liven up your home décor for the season. Besides the usual Oriental and country pieces, you can now find tropical and floral designs that perfectly suit your spring theme. Rugs tend to tie the existing colors together for more professional appearance. Look for one that matches the colors around the room, and set it in the middle for the perfect finishing touch.

Celebrate spring this year with bright colors, lots of sunlight, and nature-inspired designs. This decorating guide offers a few cool ideas. Find more information about spring colors.
