Loan Modification 2.0 Gives Homeowners a Reason to Smile

Submitted by John Caroll

It was a little more than 10 years ago when the first wave of the dot com boom took place. Everybody who had any sort of a business or even individuals with an idea rushed to build an online presence. People thought this was the end of brick and mortar companies and everything would be shifted to the internet. However, in just two or three years time, the entire dot come bubble burst and it was one of the worst scenarios which any industry had witnessed. Of course slowly but steadily, the internet and the dot com boom revived and we now have what experts call Web 2.0 - where internet based businesses provide genuine value to a consumer and offers something we really need and use. Now internet based businesses are here to say. They are wiser and can learn from mistakes made in the past.

About two years back, the housing industry bubble burst in the United States. There was a huge drop in home values and people were left with an increasingly difficult mortgage situation. Millions of homeowners lost their houses to foreclosure and there was nothing they could do to save their homes. A few people tried modifying their loans and succeeded but several millions could not get a loan modification approved. This was partly due to a lack of knowledge on how to modify their loans and partly due to the negative attitude of the mortgage lenders. Banks as well as other mortgage institutions simply refused to cooperate with their borrowers to stem the foreclosure crisis.

Well enter 2010 and industry analysts believe similar to Web 2.0, Loan Modification 2.0 is now here and this time, it is going to bring much needed relief for several million homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgage. The difference between now and two years ago is simply knowledge. Homeowners have easy access to information they need to modify their home loans. Thankfully, mortgage lenders have changed their attitude as well. They were slow, but they have managed to improve due to various reasons and now are more than willing to work with their borrowers.

With past mistakes to learn from and new information in hand, new loan modification guides help homeowners modify their mortgage on their own without any help from a company or attorney. In fact, loan modification scams was another reason why it was so difficult for homeowners to save their homes in the past. Now with families being able to convince banks to modify their mortgages on their own, there is less risk of being scammed.

Even homeowners whose loan modification application was rejected before by their banks have a reason to smile. By studying the exact step by step process of modifying your mortgage and learning how to talk to your bank, anyone can get their mortgage modified regardless of what they have experienced in the past.

Homeowners just need to be optimistic, invest some time and make sure they learn the exact steps required to modify their mortgage. Get a loan modification guide if you have to and insist on free unlimited phone support. That way, even if you need any specific assistance, you can get it without having to pay again and again. Loan modification 2.0 is definitely here to stay and if you need help, it might be worth it to submit a modification application so you can get your smile back and save your home as well.
