The Best Way To Save Thousands of Dollars in Florida Real Estate Commissions

Submitted by Adam Waxler

Within the current financial setting, particularly in states like Florida, many of us find ourselves inside a considerable buyers real estate market. The simple fact of the matter is, selling your house in the state of Florida is especially difficult unless you've got a good real estate agent by your side. Unfortunately, despite having the best real estate agent on the planet you're still going to have to worry about how much money you'll have to pay in Florida real estate commissions.

The percentage that you are going to pay out should be decided prior to your home getting listed in the local Multiple Listing Service. An average fee that is paid is going to be 6% to the real estate agent, but a lot of people are negotiating for a lower percentage than that. You merely need to ensure that you give your real estate agent an adequate percentage so that the real estate agent will be more likely to work hard for you and get your home sold quick. Unfortunately, the thing that you should know about Florida real estate commissions is the percentage that you are going to pay out to your real estate agent will not always be negotiable. Most brokers are not going to allow their agents to reduce their commission. If this is the situation, the agent has no choice, but to charge you the entire fee. Of course, you always have the option of selecting a different real estate agent...one who IS willing to reduce their commission.

Having said that, don't forget that even though no one really wants to pay Florida real estate commissions, a real estate agent has to make some income for their work just like everyone else. The simple fact is, realtors are getting you a buyer in a real estate market that is very difficult at this point. Due to this, they earn every cent they make.

Your only other option to get it on MLS is to check out the possibility of using a flat fee listing service. If you do this, you're going to pay a one-time flat fee of anywhere within the area of $299 - $799 to be listed in the Multiple Listing Service. Your home will be searchable on a variety of websites and by any agents that are researching for homes in your area for their own clients. Using a flat-fee listing service can easily save you lots of money. You at least save the 3% commission that would have been paid to your agent (selling agent) and of course, if you happen to sell the home without a realtor, you won't pay any Florida real estate commissions.
