The Two Most Crucial Questions to Ask When Selecting a Realtor To Market Your HomeSubmitted by Adam Waxler Sat, 20 Mar 2010
Deciding on the right realtor tends to make a major difference as to whether your house is going to sell in a timely fashion or if it's going to stay on the market for quite some time. You shouldn't simply choose a real estate professional because you are friends . This is often a huge mistake which could end up with your house not selling and also the friendship ending. Do some on-line research and select the real estate professional that is good for you...the person who is going to sell your home and get you the best price. There are couple of simple, yet critical, questions to ask when selecting a realtor that may help you make the right choice.
First thing you want to ask is how long the realtor has been working in the neighborhood as well as any references that they can supply you with. Whether you are buying or selling a house, having an agent which knows the area is the single most significant aspect in choosing your real estate agent. Among the many other questions to ask when selecting a realtor is what type of marketing and advertising is the real estate professional planning to do for you. Most agents will list you in the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS), but where else will you be listed? Nowadays , a large number of people search for houses on the internet through Craigslist, Yahoo Real Estate, Google, and several other real estate sites. So how else will your real estate agent list you? And, what other marketing and advertising will the agent do for you? If the agent is only planning to list you in their local MLS then it can be more suitable to just choose a flat rate listing company rather than pay 6% to the realtor. Several flat rate listing companies will syndicate your listing to over twenty other sites, including MLS. Some even provide signs and lockboxes. So, if you do choose a real estate professional, determine exactly what they'll do to market your house. If you are not happy with what they offer then you may want to try a flat fee service instead. These are two very important questions to ask when selecting a realtor because the wrong decision can end up costing you thousands of dollars in fees, or worse, leave you stuck with a home that you can't sell.
