Tulsa Oklahoma Repossessed Homes

Submitted by juliethompson
Tue, 4 Aug 2009

The town was once producing as much as seventy percent of the world's oil and had an unemployment rate that could not be measured. People were working long hard days and even the average person was making well above average wages and things were great, for a while any way. That time seems a long time removed from the Tulsa that we see before us today.

Homes were built rapidly to make sure that every one that was living there had a place to hang their proverbial hat and it seemed like the city of Tulsa was on top of the world. Then things started slowing down and drying up here for the oil industry and production shifted to the Arab states and people began seeing lay offs and job losses.

This was followed by the infusion of the foreclosure man and the repossession notices and soon the hustling and bustling frontier town was falling at a rate that seemed to exceed its ascent to grace.

The nicely built newer single family homes now sit empty and vacant and the numbers of them added to the market increase as part of a daily trend which seems destined to continue for the foreseeable future here.

While there are not a lot of homes that you would call spectacular in the foreclosure arena here there are a huge amount of well built and average looking homes that are of above average construction quality. IN comparison to the rest of the world the prices here have actually faired pretty well and even though people have lost a good portion of the value of the homes it is not anywhere near as bad as it is in California, Arizona or Florida where they actually have sunk to lows that were unexpected even by the experts.
