Fairness or not?

Fairness or not?

Fairness or Fleecing?

A "Sales Tax Fairness and Simplification Act" was reintroduced in the Senate. Senator Mike Enzi a Republican from Wyoming reintroduced the bill on May 22, 2007. This bill said by some seems to punish consumers that shop in brick and mortar stores rather than cyberspace on the Internet.

Actually, even more it hurts the consumers that were saving a little by shopping online. The shipping charge was offset by the tax savings, making it really feasible to shop online. The shipping charge on many sales is less than the would be taxes.

This Legislation requires remote sellers, such as Internet retailers and sellers to collect state taxes, who presently are not required to remit taxes on Internet purchases and catalogs.

This bill is to help states fairly and efficiently collect sales taxes. Some just call it the further fleecing of America "Internet Unfairness Tax Act". Just another way to legally take the peoples money from them.

This legislation is suppose streamline the over 7,500 diverse sales tax jurisdictions. By permitting states that are members voluntarily of the SSUTA (Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement) which requires Internet sellers to collect and remit sales and use taxes. As 15 states have changed the sate laws and implemented the SSUTA.

Bottom line to the consumer is new taxes and more taxes! Everyone pays more and as always the money will be squandered!

Everyone has got an opinion right or wrong! Let the Senator know yours!
