The High Volatility Associated With Small Cap Investments

Submitted by HGSarticles

The more volatile the stocks or options are, the greater are the possibilities of making high profits with minimal outlay of capital compared to investing in more stable but higher priced stocks. This is a feature that attracts both long-term investors and the traders alike. The long-term investors count on a company improving in value with time along with its stock price. In buying options they reduce their risks in holding on to the underlying stocks. Traders, on the other hand who generally concentrate more on short-term benefits, look for stocks with short-term high percentage price movements such as options and Penny Stocks.
By definition, Penny Stocks are priced below $1, and are also generally presumed to be capitalized below $300 million although it should not necessarily be so. In fact, Penny Stocks are found within all ranges of capitalization spanning from micro capitalized (MicroCaps) to the larger cap stocks.
Big investors generally avoid microcap penny stocks because their capitalized values are not big enough to affect the bottom lines of large investments firms. By purchasing a stake of over 10% stock in a public company, you are simultaneously taking some additional insider responsibilities as well. However, large investors normally time their involvement when the prices rise to around $5. The small investors that take early positions in sound MicroCap. Penny Stocks have an undisputed advantage over their big investing counterparts.
The market environment is a very important factor among the additional aspects to be considered when choosing an option. If properly chosen, the options for high priced stocks yield similar daily big price movements as Penny Stocks. However, for lower priced stocks to achieve a comparable percentage move with a parallel option, they would need to have a greater percentage move. It could most likely happen only with MicroCap and Penny Stocks.
That's why it is important to look for relatively liquid MicroCap and Penny Stocks in order to be able to take advantage of the volatility. One Newsletter that provide this type of information is www.HyperGrowthStock.com It's a FREE daily Alert service and they trade only liquid Penny Stocks, so that you can trade easily in and out.
