Why do some people trust third parties to make payments for them? 12/05/08

I don’t know how many more times, I have to write or talk about “the importance of not handing your money to third parties so that they would make payments for you.” Folks, I care for you and have your best interest in mind and heart. I continuously write articles about scam, mortgage companies, banks and so forth. Please read them. I also keep asking you to read my books, not because I am interested in your measly dollars (no disrespect is intended), but because, I want you to become more educated in order to handle your affairs correctly.

I am sick in my stomach to know that locally (right under my nose, where I talk publicly), how one person, scammed so many people out of their home mortgage payments, bought properties, and was living large while those homeowners faced foreclosures and evictions.

Look, it is simple. If you are working on loan consolidation, reorganization, debt consolidation, refinancing or whatever that requires you to make payments to a third party, insist on several things PLEASE. They are:
1. Make payments directly to the lender. If a company representative says, “We are the lender”, then ask for proof. Real estates or vehicles (car, truck, plane, boat, motorcycle …) should be registered with a county/parish Tax Commissioner, Tax Collector or whatever your state recognizes the property TAX office to be. IF the transfer of security to the lender is new, then the courthouse and the tax office may NOT immediately show transfer of ownership (secured party). But, if it is more than two months old, the county/parish record should show. You MUST make payment to the registered LIEN HOLDER based upon what the official/county records shows. You MUST contact your county/parish office and check that. Read the rest to make your payment son time.
2. These days it is VERY VERY easy for a scammer to make up documents. I am to the point that I don’t even trust some attorneys. No disrespect is intended to some good ones but, I have two of them in lawsuits and am planning to do more in the VERY near future. Attorneys can also fudge documents that are not true. So, the best way to know who holds the security interest to your property is to check the county records and the courthouse.
3. It is OKAY not to know the answer but seek it. It is not Okay to be foolish or plane stupid and not to know or learn. That’s why I keep saying, “Stay stupid and pay the price.” However, ask questions from people who have no financial interest in your affairs.

Now, I am going to summarize.
1. Ask the previous lender, “Where should my payment be sent?” If the lender refers you to a new company, still call the county courthouse and tax office to confirm. Recognize where your money is going.
2. Do not be fooled by a document, check and recheck.
3. If you have to make a payment to a third party, still contact the lender that the money is collected for and ask if it received payments.
4. Ask, ask and ask, get educated.
5. Do NOT ASSuME. (Sorry J)
6. SEND ME AN EMAIL and ask your question. I will be glad to help BEFORE YOU PLACE your hard earned money to the hands of the unknown.
7. Please pick up a copy of one of my books and learn how to deal with your finances.

Write me and share your experiences.
With love and best wishes.
