Bread is one of the oldest and popular prepared foods. Bread is a word commonly used for necessities. For e.g. people say that they work for bread and butter. It always meant to be something that is essential for living. It is a nutritious food that is prepared by baking dough of flour and water. The main ingredients of bread are salt, fat and leavening agent such as yeast. There are usually some other ingredients like egg, milk, sugar onions, nuts, seeds, spices, or fruits which makes the bread tastier and healthier. From the time immemorial this food called bread is very popular and special for all.

This oldest prepared food is made up of wheat. The dough is made with wheat flour and then it is cultured with yeast. And the final product gets after baking it in an oven. Apart from wheat grain bread is also prepared by barely, corn, or oats. But most commonly and tastier breads are produced with wheat grains. There are many varieties of breads available in different countries like Persian lavashs, Indian chapattis, rotis and nans etc. All these are high in demand till this date.

There are many types of breads. The most common and popular breads are the white and whole grain bread. Whole grain bread is prepared with first grinding the grains and then adding water to it and after that it is heated. Yeast is added to make the bread rise. White Bread is prepared same as the whole grain bread but there are some other proceedings like removing fiber vitamins and minerals. Spelt bread which is commonly known as Dinkel in Germany is a grain-bread. It contains gluten which is a form of protein. Spelt is actually related to common wheat. Sourdough is the breads with no sweeteners. When sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup, honey and molasses are added to the fresh breads then it becomes the typical breads that are available in the markets.

The commercial types of breads that we get in the market are highly refined. Apart from wheat other varieties like oat, barley, rye, kamut, triticle, millet, and rice are used to prepare bread. Nowadays sprouted breads are high in demand. Usually the typical breads are made from the hardened kennel of grain. But are sprouted breads the grains are soaked in water and sprout it. After that it is mashed and baked. This bread is high in protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals than other breads. It is very nutritious and has low impact on blood sugar.

There are even breads that are suitable for bodybuilders. Bread is always considered as the best food that gives you more proteins, minerals and vitamins. A slice of bread provides with all the essential ingredients that are necessary for maintaining good health and living. Bread is the oldest and popular prepared food which still continues its journey in everyday life.
