Choosing the Correct Tea for You

Submitted by deedbr

If you're ready to explore the fine world of healthy tea, you should know there are three principal types of tea on the shelves of supermarkets: black, oolong, and green. Today, the three prominent types of tea are joined by a fourth, which promises a fullness of healthful remedy white tea. The distinction between all of the types of tea is the way that each is harvested and processed. As a general rule, the less the leaf is proceessed, the greater the amount of antioxidants (as with white tea).

Black Tea

With more than 75% of the tea production in the entire world, the black variation can be named pekoe or orange pekoe. Since the leaves are left to ferment before drying, black tea contains the lowest amount of the antioxidants that can be helpful to your body. Compared to all the teas, black tea has the largest amount of theaflavin, which is considered to reduce the danger of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Per a long-term study done by the Netherlands National Institute of Public Health and the Environment, parallels were detected between daily consumption of black tea and a lower risk of having a stroke. Scientists in Saudi Arabia also noticed a 50% reduction of developing coronary heart disease.

Oolong Tea

Since oolong tea goes through an incomplete fermentation, there is still a moderate quantity of antioxidants to prevent and heal a collection of medical concerns. A high level of polyphenol is correlated to the drinking of oolong tea, which has an association to the hindrance and treatment of heart-related diseases. When drinking a cup of oolong tea every day may arise in a reduced risk of high blood pressure (or hypertension) by almost 50%. This variety of tea also helps against tooth decay and embarassing skin conditions.

Green Tea

Green tea does not begin a conversion of fermentation, which leads to a larger amount in healthy traits than the black and oolong variety. A high amount of catechin is held within a cup of green tea and it is due to this component that you get the multitude of anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Consuming green tea could also help various patients fight high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular disease, infection, rheumatoid arthritis and a weakened immune system.

White Tea

The youngest leaves and buds are left untouched when harvesting the ingredients for white tea. Because of this the largest concentration of antioxidants is available within a cup of white tea. White tea has the potential to fight against viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The white variety of tea also elevates the anti-viral and anti-bacterial fighting strength of some of the most popular toothpastes available to the consumer. Scientific work done on the polyphenols in white tea have discovered the ability to destroy cancer causing cells.

You can find it extremely demanding to select the right tea when they each have so many potential benefits. I would recommend that you should regularly drink the one that you feel is most enjoyable. Tea is a drink that must be savored not just treated as a medicine. I would also recommend you to pick a couple days each week to taste a different tea. This way you can enjoy some of the conceivable benefits of all the teas and you could even find a new preferred tea.
