cradle cap is a neonatal disease mostly found among the newborn babies. The symptom is yellowish, patchy, greasy, scaly and crusty skin rashes. Usually the rashes occur on the scalp of newborn babies. They are generally prominent around the ear, the eyebrows or the eyelids. It begins to occur sometime in the first three months after the birth of the baby. It may appear in the other areas of the body as well.

Otherwise known as seborrhoeic dermatitis, this neonatal disease is harmless and need not to be worried about. Generally the skin condition vanishes within a few months. In severe conditions, it may take two years for cradle cap to vanish. It is also not a contagious disease. So, there is no chance that it will become infectious.
