I bet many of you are familiar with the term “coffee break”. Probably your friend loves to say it every time he feels like sipping a good cup of coffee. Or, it could be you yourself asking your friends if they’d like to have a coffee break. Well, the term is not something new. It is commonly heard in any form of social gathering, whether in the office, at home, at the school, or anywhere. It is actually American in origin but is now widely used in the modern world by employees and students, whether or not they are drinking a cup of coffee.

Coffee break usually lasts for about 10 to 20 minutes. In the business world, it occurs usually at the end of the first of the work shift. Two or more people may consider the break, but there are others who take the coffee break by themselves. Yes, coffee break is not just a social gathering of two or more people, but it can be used to refer to someone having a good cup of coffee alone after a tiring work schedule. But usually what happens in most working groups is that the coffee break is considered formally at a set hour. There are some places, like some big companies, in which someone is serving hot and cold beverages with cakes and pastries. This occurs at the same period of time, in the morning as well as in the afternoon.

Coffee break is not only commonly observed in the working arena. In popular culture, the housewives are often portrayed as having a good time with a cup of coffee in their kitchens. This too is considered an example of coffee break. Well, what’s best about this situation is that you can choose what kind of coffee to brew. You can even take it any time of the day or every time you feel like having a cup of good coffee. And, if you want to have something different after your tiring day, your kitchen and your coffee maker is just out there, ready for you to make a difference.

Now if you prefer to take a coffee break by yourself at the comfort of your own home, then it’s highly possible. Just make sure, however, to have the materials needed for that great cup of coffee. Prepare the coffee beans. If you want a gourmet coffee, then you can have it. After all, gourmet coffee beans are marketed anywhere in the world these days. As such, you can choose from a number of varieties. But consider your budget first and make sure that you afford to buy the coffee variety you like.

If you’ve bought whole beans, then grind it with your coffee grinder. You can use the burr grinder which is capable of grinding your beans to its finest level. Prepare your coffee maker. Make sure that it is clean and functions well. Note that the taste of your coffee largely depends on the quality of your coffee maker, as well on how clean it was. Once your work is done, relax and enjoy your coffee break.

Coffee break is indeed a special part of your day. It is the time when you can treat yourself with something special, and truly it can jazz up your day.
