Conceptually, a noodle is a thin strip of dough that has already been rolled, sun-dried, and then cooked in water to boil. Noodles include all the different varieties from all regions, whereas Pasta could only refer to Italian noodle products like spaghetti, penne, or fetuccine.
There are so many different ways to utilize noodles in a culinary technique. It can be fried, chilled, and the most common is used in making noodle soups. A noodle soup is a dish made with raw noodles and then embellished with meat or vegetables. This soup is an everyday provision for Asians. There are so many kinds of noodle soup but we will just be tackling them by region. Since it is an Asian foodstuff, most, if not all examples are Asian countries. So if you're one amongst the billions of Asian food lovers, you might find this article somewhat useful. China There are countless legends of noodle soup to have originated in China, and a lot of these stories are adapted in most Asian countries. Beef noodle soup. These are soup in beef based stock, sometimes with chinks of stewed beef on top. Japan Japanese noodles are traditionally served in a hot dashi broth and then adorned with sliced scallions. Popular embellishment and toppings include tempura or tofu. Soba. These are thin brown noodles (buckwheat). Udon. These on the other hand are thick noodle served as a hot dish in soy dashi broth, or more commonly in a Japanese curry soup. Hawaii Saimin. These are soft egg noodles also in dashi broth. It has been known to reflect the multicultural grounds of Hawaii. Famous toppings are nori seaweed, fish cakes, sausages, or even Spam. Philippines La Paz Batchoy. A noodle soup topped with pork cracklings (crushed), chopped vegetables, pork innards and then crested with a raw egg on top. Thailand Thai noodle soups are so popular that countless number of street stalls, small canteens, and food courts readily offer them. They are commonly mad out of chicken stock, sometimes topped with coriander leaves and fish balls. The customers then can adjust the flavor by adding sugar, dried chili, and vinegar provided in every table. Noodle soups are eaten with chopsticks. Ba mii naam. These are wheat egg noodles with minced pork. The examples mentioned above are only few of the very extensive arrays of noodle soups.
