The Xmas Appetite

Submitted by kiron
Thu, 28 Apr 2011

Christmas is round the corner and the Xmas appetite is calling out to us from our tummies. I've begun rummaging around for books with the best of innovative Christmas recipes. To me Christmas is about the glossy snow, the flakes, the shimmering Christmas trees and not to forget the delectable Christmas dishes. However this year I'd like to add a bit of an ease to the Christmas recipes without compromising on taste. A little bit of a shift from the conventional variety, but firmly rooted to the festive ardor.

My first recommendation would be the Christmas recipe of Strawberry Eaton which is fancy to look at while being extremely easy to make. Just add a few pieces of sliced strawberries, a bunch of black berries, dollops of meringue and crème mixed with vanilla essence to a champagne glass. Layer the glass with the various ingredients instead of mixing it into a pile of shabbiness. Now dig out a spoonful of heaven and enjoy.

My second recommendation would be the Christmas recipe of Chicken or Turkey with Baked Potato and apple sauce. For those who are unsure of how to make apple sauce, it's hardly any trouble. All you have to do is steam apple slices along with a few tablespoons of water for 10 about minutes. The apples turn soft. Now strain out the water from the apples. Add butter to the crushed apples and mash it to smoothness after adding a little butter. This completes your apple sauce recipe.

Another personal favorite Christmas recipe is the snowball cookie. It reminds me of the snowball fights we'd have as kids. The cookie is drool worthy and easy to prepare too. All you need is margarine, sugar, vanilla essence, flour, some pecans and an oven. This one's a real delight.

This Christmas customize your recipes to simplicity while enjoying the chills of nature.
