Want a New Kitchen?Submitted by philcastro1128 Thu, 23 Jun 2011
Are you looking to enhance your home with a new kitchen? If you have the right design, you can add value and make your new space an absolute pleasure to work in. There are a few designs which are very popular and nearly all kitchens are based on these basic designs despite how anyone wants to elaborate design wise or in other areas.
The Galley New Kitchens Just like on a ship, the galley kitchen is ideal for tight spaces. It runs along one wall of the available area. They need not be boring as the general line of the kitchen can have slight protruding areas that can be enhanced by square pilaster which can be manufactured or painted to contrast with the overall colour of the main kitchen. Add lights in the overhead units or the plinths and you can create a masterpiece with a touch of elegance, and the good news it does not have to cost a fortune. U-Shaped New Kitchens The u-shaped kitchen is one of the most popular kitchens in modern homes in the world. As the name suggests, it is in the shape of a U, having benches on three sizes. In addition, a small island can be placed in the centre as well. This can be used for dining and/or food preparation This type of kitchen affords one the ideal work triangle providing it's not too large of an area. The optimal space needed is more than for a galley kitchen. You'll need around 12 feet or 3-4m. This will ensure you have enough space for a central island if you want one without being too cramped. New Kitchens designed in an L-Shape. Very similar to a U-shaped kitchen design, is the L shaped one whereas instead of three sides, the benches run along two walls. This design is very popular in restaurants and modern apartments and town houses. To provide a central focusitchen, it's a good idea to place the hob in the centre of one of the benchtop banks. The design can be further enhances with overhead units either side of the hob, again with lighting or perhaps glazed fronted doors. Kitchen Designs What ever design you choose for your new kitchen, try and get yourself an in-frame kitchen as they are sleek and stylish. An in-frame kitchen simply means the doors on the cupboards are recessed into the frame of the kitchen carcass. This creates a very sleek look to the design. Finally get good advice from people and companies that have been in business for a considerable period as ultimately this will save you both time and money
