So, you want low fat lasagna? Here are some of the ingredients that go into lasagna. To eliminate some of the fat from the lasagna recipe you need to substitute low fat ingredients. Here is the list of some the ingredients.

First, you will want to get natural noodles strips. Natural noodles can be multi-grain or whole wheat or a combination of white flour and whole wheat. You can buy natural noodles at a natural store like Whole Foods. Once you bake your low fat lasagna, you should only eat it with a salad.

Meat - most meat is high in saturated fat. So if you insist on using meat, then go to a health food store and buy meat that has low fat. But the best thing to do is to make vegetable low fat lasagna. Avoid meats like pork.

The meat you use needs to be low fat. You can use hamburger meat but stay away from pork. When you finish cooking the meat make sure you get as much grease out by squeezing the meat. Now you can choose not to use meat and go vegetarian. This is a great way to create a tasty low fat lasagna.

Onions and Garlic - Always use fresh onions and garlic and avoid the dehydrated kind. Dehydrated or processed spices have other additives. These additives can be stored as fat. Processed spices have fewer nutrients and are unbalanced food that can cause disease in the long run. Mushrooms should be natural and not from a can.

For herbs that you use, you want them to be fresh. Now, this is not always possible, but you go to a farmers market, you will surely find many fresh herbs to use in your lasagna recipe. When buying onions, garlic and other herbs make sure you ask the farmer if the produce you're buying is organic. You don't want to use product that has pesticides.

The Lasagna sauce you make should have tomato sauce without sugar. You can make the Vegetable Marinara Sauce that is on the home page. This will bring your low fat lasagna to an even lower level.

For a vegetarian or meat lasagna use your own tomato sauce that you make or from a can that has no sugar. Most every product you buy in a can has sugar and it does don't buy it. Combine your meat, spices, herbs with a vegetable marinara sauce and this will produce a wild delicious sauce.

For the olive oil you use for cooking buy fresh pressed cold oil. This is the best olive oil and contains most of the nutrient that it should have. To protect this oil from becoming bad, buy it only in dark bottles. This is the hearts of low fat lasagna; the cheeses you use. Make sure you don't use process cheeses, which contain a lot of additives, buy your cheese in blocks and not strips or shredded. These are the substitutions you have to make for your low fat lasagna. Do your shopping at a health food store and buy quality low fat products. Buy Multi-grain noodles to prevent excess blood sugar levels. Use vegetables where you can to bring fiber into your body to prevent your body from absorbing too much fat.
