The Top 10 Best Cheeses

Submitted by Food Reviews

Again, here is another top 10 list for which you can debate on. Here are (in no particular order) the top 10 best cheeses in the world:

1) Gorgonzola - It's absolutely perfect for a wine party. The tangy flavor goes well with most dishes. It's even favored by many as a cheese that could be used on desserts.

2) Brie - When you're know as the best of all the French cheeses, you know it's got to taste good, and brie does not disappoint. The unbelievably creamy taste of brie in quite unique. Best used as an Hors d'oeuvre.

3) Mozzarella - What would Italian food be without this cheese. Most people think that it's best just on a pizza, but there are many other foods that will go well with it too. It's perfect for salads as well as sandwiches.

4) Zamorano - Made by sheep's milk, this simple and smooth tasting cheese is perfect for those of us that are watching our diets.

5) Monterey Jack - Perfect as an after dinner cheese, Monterey Jack is also a favorite among vegetarians.

6) Parmigiano Reggiano - Certainly not the cheapest cheese in the world, as most delis sell it for more than $12 a lb. Bit its such a treat, that you just have to spoil yourself. It almost makes you think of Italy, even if you have never been.

7) Gouda - One of the best cheeses to melt. Perfect cheese to be used on a grilled cheese sandwich.

8) Fontina - Another Italian cheese that most of the world could not live without. A very unique taste. Some might even call it strong, but you have to admit its different than most cheeses.

9) Castelmagno - An extremely expensive cheese, but perfect to crumble.

10) Mahon - This Spanish cheese needs to be ripened for almost 2 years before its ready to eat. But it's well worth it after you take that first bite. It's great as snack.

Luckily many of these cheeses can be found online as they can be shipped to most homes in the United States. Just take a look at the gourmet food reviews as well as the gift basket reviews for more information.
