I was just wondering which is more profitable or rather rank higher between a niche article directory or a General purpose article directory?

There are just so many general article directories out there now, the market is probably saturated. I think a niche directory would probably work better, and you'd see results quicker. And if you could make it an unusual niche, that would be even better.
