Acne Information That you Need to Know

Acne refers to unceasing irritation of hair follicle and sebaceous glands and its cause is closely correlated to sexual hormone hypersteatosis and bacterial infection. Acne materializes as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and every now and then as profound painful bumps that look and feel like boils. It frequently occurs on the face but can also appear on the upper back, chest, shoulders, and neck.

There are a variety of causes of acne together with hormones, anxiety and stress. Just like in many other health problems that draw a line between the two human genders, women tend to be more susceptible to acne than men. The rational behind this can be thought to be connected closely to ovulation, menstruation, and childbirth, where the ratio of male-to female hormones vary tremendously, thus stimulating the oil-producing glands that cause this disorder.

Acne commence in your hair follicles since of the follicle contains a sebaceous gland-an oil secreting sac attached to the follicle. These glands generate sebum, oil that keeps your skin from drying out. When dead skin gets stuck in a follicle it combines with the sebum and creates a plug.

A closed plug is called the whiteheads and they lie beneath the surface. Conversely, a blackhead is an open plug, where the follicle's dark plug is noticeable. When congested, follicles fill with bacteria, and they may rip open and cause relentless acne.

Although the cruel bacterial living on our skin has been blamed for causing acne, this is a subject that has drawn a lot of inconsistency in terms of whose research is accurate or not. The following is another set of causes that are also believed to be true. Hormonal fluctuation especially to women due to their reproductive nature has been rated high in this context. Hyperactive sebaceous glands means that they will actively secret a lot of sebum which provides food for acne bacterial and this result to persistent problems with acne. There are high chances that the people who suffer from severe acne problems could have super active sebaceous glands.

Many dead skin cells staying on the skin especially on the scalp could be a cause of acne. These dead cells on the head are referred to as dandruff and it has plagued many and this sometimes leads to some painful pustules .Skin irritation or scratching of any sort is also a potential cause of this dreaded problem. the symptoms and/or signs of acne one should expect to see includes the blackheads -black spots that are visible on skin surface and the whiteheads-white spots similar to blackheads. Pustules -small pus-filled lesions, cysts that are larger and firm swellings and abscesses -swollen and inflamed areas with pus are important symptoms to differentiate acne from yeast infection rash. Redness and inflammation around eruptions is not to be unexpected.

Apart from the above causes, effects includes Acne that can cause scars after an enduring problems with acne which appears as black spots and blemishes and this is disgraceful. Acne can make the skin much more sensitive and painful to physical contact through touching or rubbing and it could also result to psychological effects depicted by reduced self-esteem, which can cause hopelessness and anxiety to teenagers who are easily affected by self-esteem problems.

Consult with your physician or dermatologist if your acne is strict. When and if your acne is mild or moderate trial and error is obvious until you find the best solution for you. It can be a hormonal or not, non-prescription or natural product or a combination of products depending on your specific condition and genetic nature.
