Asthma is no unknown to the domain of general diseases and disorders. Out of all classes of asthmatic conditions one could face, allergic asthma is the most general. It is described that about 90% of children are prone to allergic asthma and about 50% of adults are too suffers from the condition.
It is general to hear individuals asking the question; is allergic asthma another variety of the same disease? the answer is two-fold. Yes it is a form of asthma and it is also the most general form. So when individuals say; I m having an asthma attack , they'd be likely referring to allergic asthma. What recognizes allergic asthma from other types? In allergic asthma, allergens are involved, big time. They are the ones who play their role behind the curtain and trigger asthma attacks. Common allergy triggers are pollen, dust, mites, moulds and even animal fur. Now you know why doctors advised against having dogs or cats in the house if your kid is prone to allergic asthma! Apart from those general allergens, almost each individual suffering with asthma also fights after being exposed to cold air, being exposed to smoke and fumes. At time, asthma can be triggered by even the finest things that we do not take serious. As an example, smell of a strong purfume is just adequate for tripping an attack. So if you have any asthmatics around the house, you should be highly careful! Since we have figured out the allergies for asthma, let's try to understand what an allergy is. You know what a great job your body does at protecting you against external substances that try to occupy your body? Well, the body has its own natural immune system to combat against these outside forces. But what happens during an allergy is that the body misidentifies harmless things such as pollen and dust to be foreign invaders. Therefore, you body may have started responding to it even before you know it. This is the primary base for allergic asthma. Usually the airways are extra-sensitive of the people who are suffering from allergic asthma. Therefore, when allergens get in to the airways, the immunity system will jump start to its defending mode and you will have allergic asthma symptoms. The most general allergic asthma symptoms include wheezing, coughing, breathing quickly, shortness of breath and tight chest. So if you ever start feeling this way while walking on the road, or rushing to an interview, you should have medication to back you up. In most cases, you will be given an inhaler that can be easily used to ease you from the symptoms.
