A New Healing Center: New York CitySubmitted by urlreader
When it comes to energy healing, New York is an absolute hub. People come from all over the United States, not to mention those from out of the country, to learn some of the exciting new healing modalities such as Body Talk. New York City is lucky to have The BodyTalk Center, which is located in Manhattan. Newly expanded, The BodyTalk Center is home to a wealth of healing information; you can find lectures, workshops, and training for this up and coming healing technique.
Many who first encounter this system are very curious about how it works. The following is a very basic overview of the general manner in which a BodyTalk session might progress: Phase One: Requesting Permission. You begin by lying on a massage table, face up with your arms at your sides. You are fully clothed for the treatment. The healing practitioner stands at your side and ask permission to treat you from the four centers of your awareness: your physical body, your conscious mind, your unconscious mind, and your spiritual self. By isolating the muscle test to a single strong muscle in your arm, the practitioner is able to gauge each response individually, meaning that each of your awareness centers has the opportunity to grant or deny permission. Phase Two: Finding the Problem(s). After securing permission, the practitioner asks a series of yes or no questions to the body in order to allow the body to direct them to the energy circuits that need to be re-balanced. A sample question would be "Are organs a priority?" (YES) "Lungs" (NO) "Liver?" (YES)..etc. The healer then follows these answers until the specifics of the problem have been identified. Phase Three: Re-connecting the Lines. Placing the patient's hand on the problem area (this process is repeated for each problem area), the therapist then asks each major body system where the linkages need to be made by placing their hand over the system being questioned. "Link to the lungs?" (NO) "Kidneys?" (NO) "Heart?" (YES). Each time there is a "yes" answer, the patient's hand remains on the problem area while the practitioner touches the reflex point on the body that will link with the problem area, restoring that line of communication. Then, the healer lightly taps the patient's head and heart. Phase Four: Tapping and Breathing. There are two specific places on the body that are utilized in tapping: the top of the head and over the heart, on the sternum. Tapping the head directs the brain to each link and asks it to re-build the lines of communication between the two. The heart, on the other hand, when signaled to a repair link, is asked to make the new link permanent. In traditional Chinese medicine, the heart is the central coordinator for the body and also has the job of organizing energy. While the healer taps, the patient cycles through two deep breaths in order to acknowledge and incorporate these changes into the memory of the body. If you are looking for a healing center, New York City is certainly a great place to start, and if you aren't local, you might even consider taking a trip to the big city to visit The BodyTalk Center. This would be a very powerful way to begin your journey of healing and your education about BodyTalk. About the Author
