Most people know that vitamins are great keys to maintaining a healthy body and overall form of life. They are abundant and can bring about many health benefits. Nutrition is not just vital to your overall health, but is important to the health of your hair as well. While our bodies need a variety vitamins and minerals to support certain functions, there are specific ones that will promote healthy hair.

Vitamin C is probably the most popular vitamin in the world. It's found in almost every single fruit including oranges. You know it for being a great boost to your immune system, but what you may not have known is that it's a hidden key to unlocking the growth of your hair.

However even though vitamin A is a really good vitamin to take for your hair, you have to be careful. Taking too much vitamin A will have a counter effect and lead to thin hair. So be very watchful that you do not exceed the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A. Vitamin B2 is essential for enhancing the production of sebum on scalp that keeps the scalp healthy and promotes hair growth.

One benefit of vitamins is that that they can really prove to be beneficial for those losing hair. If you want to regrow more hair and fight off the effects of baldness, then you need to consider your vitamin intake. This vitamin can be commonly found in many types of foods - soy beans, wheat, ready-to-eat cereals, grains, beans, spinach, nuts, eggs, and many other green leafy vegetables. If you find that your daily diet lacks the above ingredients, you can always consider taking health supplements in the form of pills and capsules to make up for the lack in vitamin E.

The best vitamins for hair growth include B-vitamins and zinc. A deficiency in B-vitamins can actually promote hair loss while too much vitamin A can also have the same effect. It's important not to overdo your intake of essential vitamins so following the recommended daily value will help to ensure balance.

Parched, lifeless hair is caused by too much exposure to the sun, wind, and water. The excessive use of hair styling products, blow drying, hair perm, hair straightening, hair coloring and use of other chemical treatments can also damage the hair and make it dry and dull. To bring back the luster in your hair, buy a hair vitamin or hair product with the chemical inositol in it.
