Mental health is simply the state of successful performance of all our mental functions. This is difficult to describe but when one is mentally healthy one is able to perform there day to day activities successfully and is able to manage healthy inter personal relationship, be able to cope with change and handle diversity. While in our normal day to day life we do not observe what mental health is all about it, we only get curious about it once we notice something is wrong or the absence of good mental health and even then most of the times we choose to ignore it.
On the other hand mental health is an issue which is out of the reach or understanding of many people. Today's human are under much pressure from the daily life routines as compared to their ancestors. Advent of high technologies and luxuries good in market has increased our desire for these things. We are slowly running towards a more pleasure seeking culture. In recent few years, Indian roads have seen major jump in the number of cars. Twenty years back, it is very difficult to see a more then 10 lakh rupees car on Indian roads but now one can easily see n number of these cars. All this is also true with other gadgets. Setting achievable goals can help you get where you want to be, without becoming frustrated and giving up. If you set small goals along the way, that get you to your one big goal, you are more likely to see it through to the end. You will get a big ego boost every time you achieve one of the goals on your list, knowing that you are one step closer to accomplishing that one big goal. Resistance exercises like weight lifting help you to maintain and increasing muscular strength. Again, to reduce injury from falls that elderly face often, you need to do exercises that maintain or improve balance. You can do exercises like the stork, one of the simplest exercises to improve balance. Stand on one leg, keep your arms at your side with your shoulders relaxed, and try to balance for 30 seconds. Other balance exercises are nose toucher and heel raises, step-up or sit-stands. Post traumatic stress is the result of some hazard happened in life like car accident, rape and any such event which has caused severe psychological distress. Generally, meditation is considered as helpful for people undergoing any mental ailment. But for getting perfect relief it is essential to practice some certain type of meditations which helps in lowering blood pressure. However, professional counseling and psychotherapy are the widely accepted treatment of these disorders. Anyone who finds that they are suffering from an overall decline in their mental health, such as a loss of confidence, a loss of concentration, depression and so on, should seriously consider contacting an online therapist.
