Many foods and drinks can lead to discoloration in the teeth, but some of the most common foods and drinks include coffee, cola, red wine, oranges, carrots, and any other food that is deeply-colored. These types of stains are generally considered to be minor and can often be removed with simple brushing or by using prophylactic dental cleaning techniques. In some cases, however, it may be necessary to purchase a teeth whitening stain in order to remove these types of stains. This is particularly true if the staining has been in place for quite some time or if the staining has penetrated into the dentin.

One way to reduce stains on the teeth is to quit smoking. This may seem like a huge hassle for some, but it will go a long way when it comes down to whiter teeth. The nicotine in cigarettes leaves brown stains on the enamel. These stains are almost impossible to remove with brushing. Furthermore, smoking causes bad bread, the gum disease known as gingivitis, and it increases the risk of developing oral cancers.

When peeling oranges you will notice that the back part of it is white. You usually throw it away as something that is not of purpose. What you do not know is that it can be used to whiten your teeth. All you need to do is rub that white part on your teeth and it will give out a beautiful white shine.

Eating crunchy foods to get rid of yellow teeth falls under the category of exfoliating your teeth. The hard materials will gently rub the surface of your teeth and over time will remove some of the staining. This can take a long time to see results.
