When talking about snoring problem, a single thing enters our mind and that is the nuisance sound which disturbs the night. Well, it's not just like that. Acupressure might work by means of release of endogenous opioid analgesics such as encephalin, endorphin causing reduction of pain. Acupressure is considered as a safe form of therapy and its side effects are rare. There are various Acupressure instrument available in the market. An acupressure wristband is an example of that instrument. It is said that it helps to relieve the symptoms of motion sickness and other forms of nausea. This band is intended to give pressure to the P6 acupuncture point, a point that has been comprehensively investigated. For the lower body, many manufacturers have developed air compression systems. The air compression systems incorporate specifically designed airbags with special nodes to activate trigger points in the lower body. When the air compression system activates, the airbag inflates and the node pushes gently into the trigger point. These are most commonly found for the back of the calves and for the bottom of the feet. Stimulating these trigger points help to induce total body relaxation and release accumulated tension. The Cochrane Collaboration, a group of evidence-based medicine reviewers, proclaim that the use of P6 for nausea and vomiting which is effective for reducing post-operative nausea, but not vomiting. The Cochrane review includes various means of stimulating P6, including acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, transcutaneous nerve stimulation, laser stimulation, acustimulation device and acupressure; it did not comment on whether one or more forms of stimulation were more effective. EBM reviewer Bandolier said that P6 acupressure in two studies showed 52% of patients with control having a success, compared with 75% with P6 acupressure. Slow motion kneading uses the thumbs and fingers along with the heels of the hands to squeeze large muscle groups firmly. This motion is similar to that of kneading a large mass of dough. This relieves general stiffness, shoulder and neck tension, constipation, and spasms in the calf muscles. Brisk rubbing uses friction to stimulate the blood and lymph. The skin is rubbed lightly to relieve chilling, swelling, and numbness by increasing circulation, as well as to benefit the nerves and tone of the skin.
