Slimming pills, on the other hand, generally work by suppressing your appetite. So instead of keeping your metabolism ticking over regularly throughout the day, it just ends up getting confused. Your body also needs a wide variety of vitamins and minerals for optimum health. You can't get those by not eating because slimming pills have suppressed your appetite.

People on slimming pills feel comfortable and in control of their actions and they will stick with the prescribed dosage. Reality is though people started to increase the prescribed dosage hoping to slim faster. Weight loss pills are often the last slimming method people will try, the preferred method of grossly overweight people or those who struggle to lose more.

Some slimming pills contain certain diuretics that induce water loss. If a pill, for example, makes you lose one pound of water, you reduce your weight by the same amount. But the moment you drink liquids, the depleted quantity of water is recouped again and your weight comes back to its original position.

Slimming tablets, supplements or pills are sold to desperate consumers eager to control their weight, the majority of the industry understands this and so their message appeals. Fast and Rapid are words that are often used to sell. "Rapid" and "Weight Loss" should not appear in the same sentence. The weight loss pill industry is huge. Currently, in the United States alone it is worth over sixty billion dollars ($60 billion) with over 10% of the products sold either fraudulent or harmful.

Slimming pills like Reductil, Acomplia, and Xenical have given a ray of hope for obese people. In adjunct with proper amount of calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise in moderation, these slimming pills, help you treat obesity.

Xenical slimming pill is not for everyone and some obese people may react badly to it. Anyone with problems in absorbing food, gallbladder problems; pregnant and breastfeeding women must stay away from using Xenical slimming pill. Intake of Xenical slimming pill puts a strain on the kidneys, so people with kidney problems must tell their doctors, who may suggest lower dosages or other helpful weight loss remedies.

Another popular and preferred slimming pill is Alli, which is quite responsible of giving diarrhea, anal leakage and various other side effects to its several users. This slimming pill is proved to help reduce just 1 pound.

Alli is another very popular slimming pill being offered today. It has decent results being reported also, just like Xenical. Alli bonds with fats that are present in the body and removes them from the digestive system, making proper digestion impossible. However, Alli also obstructs the fat that our bodies need to remain healthy. Consumers of Alli have also reported diarrhea and anal leakage.

Ephedra (ephedrine alkaloid), once a popular component of some slimming pills that worked, it is now totally banned due to it's safety issues. It can still be found on the Internet though. Some athletes use it as a performance enhancing drug. Banned in most sports circles.

Clenbuterol: Also infamously known as the "Size Zero Pill" - this drug was originally manufactured to treat asthma for horses. It was then adapted to dieting for humans as it was discovered that because it gets the heart racing, fat is subsequently burned faster and it also suppresses your appetite for up to 9 hours. It is considered extremely unsafe and is now only a prescription drug.
