The Benefits of AromatherapySubmitted by berlay.petronille@gmail.com Tue, 21 Jul 2009
The science of using different types of essential oils for improving attitude is called Aromatherapy. Essential oils are the byproduct of plants that provide physical and personal benefits when used as part of a holistic wellness routine. Although essential oils are generally manufactured from plant extracts, there are essential oils made from other simple organic products. Along with plant oils, the aromatherapy requires the use of other methods of healing to create a fully effective reaction.
In addition to medicinal benefits at the physical level, essential oils can help to calm emotions. Essential oils are useful for other purposes. When essential oils distillation are used in laundry and household cleaners they can provide a cleaner office without a chemical smell. Essential oils like penny royal act as a natural pesticide or insect replant. You may have used citronella based torches in summer to away bugs. The essential oil from citronella is an excellent insect repellent, especially when burned. Essential oils are regularly mixed in certain combinations to create specific aromas. Essential oils are also mixed together for use in a specific application. When Essential oils are carefully mixed with a unique therapeutic purpose in mind, something called essential oil synergy is created. An essential oilsynergistic blend is more effective than any one oil would be if left uncombined. In America the word "aromatherapy" on product packaging, labeling or in product advertising, is unregulated so any product can be marketed as usable in an aromatherapy routine. There are quite a few products on the market that contain man made ingredients including fragrance oils and claim to be aroma therapeutic. It's important to look at the ingredient label when seeking true aromatherapy products. Labels on aromatherapy products that state they're "Made From Natural Ingredients" or "Made From Essential Oils" should be considered sceptically. Statements like this don't indicate that the product only contains the items(s) specified. Such products can be made from large volumes of artificial perfume oils and only contain aminute quantity of essential oil. Be sure you only use organic products for your essential oil needs.
