Arthritis Natural Remedies - Cure Arthritis in Natural Way

Arthritis literally means “joint inflammation,” but generally refers to the more than 100 rheumatic diseases and related conditions that can cause pain, stiffness and swelling in the joints and connective tissues. Affecting one in every seven Americans of all ages, arthritis also can deteriorate the joints’ support systems, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and other parts of the body.

Symptoms of arthritis include pain and limited function of joints. Inflammation of the joints from arthritis is characterized by joint stiffness, swelling, redness, and warmth. Tenderness of the inflamed joint can be present.

There are many alternatives to prescription drugs, some of which can provide significant relief for arthritis sufferers. The most attractive feature of these natural arthritis remedies is that they are safe, and have not been shown to cause the same adverse reactions as the pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory drugs.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, is a mild painkiller and strengthens connective tissue between joints.

Contraindications: Avoid if you have gallbladder problems or are taking anticoagulants; it can also increase sensitivity to sunlight.

Dosage: 2-4g of dried herb or equivalent in tablets (take as directed); 14ml (1ml is about 15 drops) of tincture.

Fish Oils - These include essentials nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids that are vital for various bodily functions. Fish oils are especially effective in reducing inflammation and can be helpful if you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

A tea made from Alfalfa, especially from its seeds, has shown beneficial results in the treatment of arthritis. Simply add one teaspoon of Alfalfa seeds to one cup of boiling water. Take three to four cups of this tea daily for approximately two weeks to reduce inflammation. Another option is to regularly take alfalfa capsules or add a small amount of alfalfa to your diet.

Bake one or two egg- plants. Mash and fry in about 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, garlic and salt can be added while frying.
Dosage: Take once daily for two to three months for relief.

Horsetail - an arthritis herbal remedy that strengthens connective tissues. Rich in silica, which helps harden bones.

White willow - an anti-inflammatory arthritis herbal remedy that also relieves pain.

Boswellia - Also known as "Indian frankincense" or "boswellin", this herb displays both anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic characteristics. Boswellia reduces pain and inflammation without severe side effects and may be helpful in autoimmune disorders.

Devil's claw is a plant native to southern Africa. Its name comes from the small hooks on the plant's fruit. The active ingredients in devil's claw are believed to be iridoid glycosides called harpagosides, which are found in the secondary root. Devil's claw has been used for thousands of years in Africa for fever, rheumatoid arthritis, skin conditions, and conditions involving the gallbladder, pancreas, stomach and kidneys.

Bogbean is an aquatic herb, very powerful herb special for rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoarthritis, anti-inflammatory. Since this herb cleans the urinary tract, drink lots of water.
