Three Reasons Taking Antibiotic Acne Treatment Might Not Be A Good Idea

There are many reasons why taking antibiotic acne treatment might be beneficial. However, there are also reasons why taking antibiotic acne treatment could be quite harmful. Take a look at the disadvantages and make your own choice.
It Can Return

The main problem with people taking antibiotic acne treatments is that they work well when they are taken. However, there will come a time when the person needs to get off of the antibiotic and at that time it can be difficult. Basically, when the antibiotic is stopped, the acne can come back quickly. This is a major flaw in treating acne with antibiotics, but since acne is not curable at this point, it may be dealt with.

Long Term Use

Those who take antibiotics for their acne might have to take the pills for long periods of time. Taking pills for months is not unusual. In fact, it can take up to two months to even start seeing results. However, some experts think that taking antibiotics for long periods of time can lead to resistance. Then when the person really needs them to battle an infection, they may not work properly.

Weaken Immune System

Lastly, many experts feel that long term antibiotic use might weaken the immune system. Therefore, they dont want their patients on this type of acne treatment forever.
