Braid Hairstyles - Simple Step By Step Guide

Submitted by beautyandmakeuptips

Braided rugs are extremely versatile in the ability to add color and warmth to any room in a home. They have been doing this a long time since pioneer women first brightened their homes with rugs made out of scraps of old fabrics. Traditional braided rugs added beauty while warming up stark cold floors and continue to be one of the most popular rugs for this purpose.

The braid hairstyle is a flattering, sexy style for women with medium to long hair and if this is you, it could be the look for 2007. Braids are great in the summer weather, just start with a pony tail and braid your hair. You can choose from French braids, plain braids or corn rows. Braids are so versatile, they can be interwoven with pretty ribbons, or pinned in place with classy clip. The French braid is great for controlling unruly locks on a bad hair day.

Before you start to braid you should spray your hair with water or styling spray to make it easier to comb. Again divide the hair into three sections hold the middle section firm and pull the right section across, then the left, and then pull across the center. You can braid your hair loose or tight depending on your preference. Always finish off your braid with an elastic band. You can then either leave the braid hanging or wind it around your head. Once you get used to braiding, it can be done within a few minutes.

First Step:

First begin it by applying a style gel, mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow drying it as smooth as possible. Braiding hair that has not been washed on that particular day and already has hair products in it also works well.

Second Step:

Divide tangle free hair into three even sections. Place the left section between the left index finger and thumb, let the middle section hang free and place the right section between the right index finger and thumb. This will begin to create the hair braids.

Third Step:

Grab the middle section with the right middle finger and pull it so it passes behind the right section. Extend your right thumb and index finger so the portion of hair there in becomes the middle section.

Fourth Step:

Use the left middle finger to pull the middle section behind the left section. Extend or straighten the left index finger and thumb to make the left section become the middle section. Pay careful attention to the smoothness and tension of your hair braid sections.

Fifth Step:

Shift the portion of hair hooked in the right middle finger so it sits between the right index finger and thumb. Repeat the process, then shift the portion of the hair hooked in the left middle finger so it sits between the left index finger and thumb.

Sixth Step:

Continue until you achieve the desired length of the hair braid. Make a tighter, more compact braid by pulling the middle section into a horizontal line as you pull it to the right or left. For a loose, elongated braid, simply shift the middle section to the right or left, letting it remain in a vertical line.

Seventh Step:

Tie off the ends of the hair braid with a covered rubber band. Add a bow or barrette when appropriate.
