The time required to conduct this operation is usually one and a half hours. General anesthesia is used during the course of this procedure. Post-operation, the patient has to stay in the hospital for the night. For this reason, at times, patients and doctors both prefer an operation that can be performed early in the day. Doctors will prescribe an appropriate medication for the same. A light dressing will cover the incision and it must be kept dry for a period of two weeks. The dressing will be removed after two weeks and the wound will be inspected also be lightly cleaned.

Following the operation, you will have to make regular visits to the doctor in the months to follow. This is necessary, as your doctor needs to keep track of the progress that you have made. The stipulated recovery time for this surgical procedure is between 1-2 weeks, but patients can resume work after a couple of days.
