Colors in Everyday Fashion

Often, the first thing you notice about people isn't their face, hair, or body-it's usually what they're wearing. More specifically, it's the colors they're wearing that really make them stand out. People are naturally drawn to color, and we tend to make assumptions on a person's taste based on the colors they choose. That's why it's important to choose your colors carefully, whether you're going to work, school, a party or a day at the mall.

Not all people have an eye for color, but that doesn't mean you have to be an expert to dress well. It's just a matter of knowing what looks good on you and what doesn't, and what features you have that are worth emphasizing. If you have good skin, for example, look for a color that contrasts well to bring it out more. Or if you have a nice eye color, try wearing a matching top or coat to complete your look.

Accessories are also a good way to add color to your outfit. Even a simple black or white dress can be jazzed up with a well-chosen accessory, such a gold necklace or a colorful belt. This works well if your clothing choices are limited, like when you're at a corporate function or a school event. With the right accessories, you can still play by the rules but look your best without going overboard.

Don't forget to choose your makeup carefully. Makeup colors run the gamut from plain, neutral shades to wild hues that really pop out of the picture. The colors you choose should depend on the occasion, but more importantly, they should match your skin tone. Identify the colors that look good on you, and keep a good supply of them in your makeup bag. That way, no matter what you're wearing, you can be sure your makeup will match.

Finally, don't be afraid to play around with colors. Some of the best fashion styles came out of bold color choices. While not all of them will work, it won't hurt to experiment-after all, fashion is all about discovering beauty and finding ways to incorporate it into your lifestyle.

Color is an important part of every woman's wardrobe. Here are some tips on wearing colors and finding the colors that work for you.
