Hair Care Tips For You

Submitted by elmgator

Your hair is your most noticeable trait at first glance. Take care of it and it will shine for all the world to appreciate. Not everyone needs expensive treatments, or visits to a hair salon to manage their hair professionally. There s a lot you can do yourself.

For shiny, healthy hair think first of what you take into your body. Your hair is really just one aspect of what you are inside. A balanced, nutritious and healthy diet will do more to care for you hair than any shampoo or conditioner. You should drink at least eight to ten glasses of water a day too; hair is partially water, so don't let yours go thirsty!

Try to air dry you hair if possible at room temperature after using an soft towel to soak up the excess moisture, but don't rub hard. Whenever possible don't use blow-drying, flat irons, curling irons or any type of hot rollers. High temperature heating will make your hair brittle and damaged over time. The natural way is usually best.

Avoid hair damage by using the right kind of hairbrush. Comb your wet hair with a wide-tooth comb, combing from end to root, and avoiding touching the root. Trying to detangle wet hair with a hard steel comb can do a lot of damage.

Split ends, or trichoptlosis can be avoided by taking small sections of your hair and twisting them carefully in a gentle downward motion. The split ends will stick out. Always use shart scissors to carefully cut the twisted section, but not completely through, to remove the damaged parts and leave a natural beautiful layered look. Cut about the same amount each time from each twist to balance the look.

Often times hair loss can be slowed, or even sometimes reversed by applying a few simple techniques, though they may not affect an underlying condition. Biotin can help to regenerate hair follicles. You can blend bananas with honey or yoghurt and low-fat milk, and drink it daily. Supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc and saw palmetto may help too. Also eliminating stress and getting plenty of sleep may help your overall health as well as your hair.

Most women, and some men, are fixated on our hair, whether we are old or young. The first step is to look after your overall health and your hair will reflect that care and attention. Your hair can be a vital part of your self image if you treat it well.
