Have a great styling along with your monsoon hair care

The rainy season is knocking at the door and its time for having some extra care for the hair, as the monsoon is not really a good friend for your tresses. This is the time when you are going to face problems like limpness, greasiness and hair fall. The excessive amount of moisture in the weather makes the hair dull flat and tangled. Therefore this is the most crucial time for you to have a thorough hair care regimen for the gentle and effective care of your hair.

How to protect?

1. Avoid using too much hair products and use only a mild shampoo and gentle conditioner for the hair.
2. Have a regular wash for your hair.
3. Use conditioner after every wash. Do not apply it on the hair root or scalp but on the hair shaft.
4. You need to drink plenty of water.
5. Have a proper protein enriched diet along with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Some dos and don'ts:
1. Dos:
a. Cut your hair short and that will help you feel better. This is because it becomes harder to manage the unruly hair during the monsoon. Bob hairstyle can be great for this time of the year.
b. A regular henna treatment can be of much help during this season.
c. You can also use an anti-humidity hair gel to groom stubborn hair. Work a small amount through dry hair to settle it down. Once again, use a good quality product.
d. Having an oil massage once in a week can be much helpful.
e. You can also use a honey and olive oil mask. This acts as a conditioner to the hair repairs damages.
2. Don'ts:
a. At this time of the year avoid using hair dryers and other such heat treatments to the hair. And still you need to use a hair dryer make sure that the hair is not dripping wet. Use it at least six inches away from the hair.
b. Avoid chemical treatments and permanent straightening of the hair.
c. And over all always try not to get drenched in the rain. The rainwater is full of pollutant materials in the weather. This does a lot of damage to the hair by weakening the bond of the hair shaft making the hair dull and limp.
d. Also do not comb the hair when wet.

Now here are some extra tips that you can follow for the better treatment of your hair during the monsoons. Frizzy hair is a common problem in monsoons, as excess humidity in the environment makes the hair dry and coarse. Therefore conditioning is much essential during the monsoons. A good conditioner smoothens out the hair, making it easily manageable. Extracts like Avocada oil and Burdock in conditioners will give the hair a silky smooth feel and also help prevent hair fall. And if your hair is oily it tends to become limp during monsoons therefore your hair needs shampoos that will give volume to the hair. Natural extracts like rosemary and sage can help in providing that extra bounce and vitality to limp hair.
