Herbs can also be used as a natural remedy and are widely used. some of the herbs that can be used for cleansing your skin are: burdock, nettle, red clover, yellow dock and cleavers. In Ayurveda, eczema is known as Vicharchika. It is caused due to the vitiation of all the three doshas - vata, pitta and kapha. Eczema is an infectious disease. It can spread from one person to another. It has been found to run in families. Especially if there is some allergy, then there is greater chance of eczema. Other factors that can bring on eczema are age, climate, food, stress and nature of skin. Eczema has more chances of occurring during puberty and menopause.

Flaxseed oil: Many individuals have found that by taking this oil everyday helps to strengthen their system in warding off the eczema from their bodies. Soaking the affected portion in this mixture has been found to be effective in eradicating this skin ailment.

Regular application of emu oil or tea tree oil on the affected skin is another herbal treatment for eczema, and can ease swelling with repeated applications through the day. The itchy and dry skin that characterizes eczema is soothed and brought under control when these oils are applied. But it cannot be claimed that they relieve the problem. They do, however, ease its symptoms.

Herbal treatment for eczema concentrates on improving the functioning of the liver because a malfunctioning liver can result in disorders of the skin. For those who are suffering from eczema it is found that they will generally have immune systems that can best be described as weak which will also make them susceptible to contracting herpes, developing warts as well as being at risk of viral infections.

Eczema can be tackled by a physician in many ways. One common way to cure eczema is the use of cortisteroids, which help reduce inflammation if the condition is extreme. Antibiotics have also been found to be effective in curing eczema. Prescription topical solutions are also prescribed for relief from eczema and the rashes caused by itching.

Raw food diet is another eczema natural cure. Always remember that eczema can be caused by allergens contained in some foods like milk, yogurt, cheese or ice cream. Foods containing sugar and some sea foods can also trigger eczema. Having a balance diet with fresh fruits and vegetables is generally good not only to avoid and treat eczema but for the nourishment of the whole body as well.

Blue berry leaf extracts have been used for ages to reduce swelling, inflammation and eczema. Blue berry leaf is a source of antioxidants and includes relatively high amounts of chlorogenic acid. This acid is considered as a natural eczema cure and an anti-inflammatory medicine. Blue berry leaf extract is available in the form of creams, lotions and gels. If you can buy the extract from a local wellness store and use it regularly, you should get good results with your eczema.

Eczema sufferers have a condition where the keratinocytes in the skin are less tightly bound together and will be more exposed to external substances which break down the skins protective barriers. This is a problem with the immune system however not the skin itself so direct applications to the skin only solve some of the problem!
