How to Apply Mascara - Applying Mascara

Submitted by rickhutch

As mascaras are now loaded with proteins and waxes to condition the lashes and come in problem-solving formulations, look for one that suits your needs, Thin, sparse looking lashes will benefit from lash-building. How to Apply Mascara formulations that contain special ingredients to add volume and thickness, If you wear contact lenses, do not use lash-building mascaras, as the fibers within them can get trapped between eye and lens, causing irritation.

Start at the bottom of the eyelash and gently stroke your mascara brush forward, making sure you completely cover the eyelashes with mascara. Stroke it along the tops and the bottoms of the eyelashes, gently wiggling or zig-zagging it, to prevent clumps.

Next, use the tip of the mascara wand to brush your lowe lashes, using a gentle side to side technique. Take care to keep your hand steady whilst you are applying the mascara and not to blink while the mascara is still wet. Comb through your lashes with an eyelash comb to remove any excess the wand has left behind.

Take your index finger and your thumb and gently pinch the eyelashes. This will help you combine the false eyelashes with the real ones so you don't have any eyelashes sticking up oddly.

Once you have selected the kind of mascara and color you want to apply, then you are ready to apply your mascara and show the world how naturally beautiful you are. You can curl your lashes with a eyelash curler if desired. You should also apply all other eye make before applying your mascara.

Pull the wand out of the mascara tube. It’s better to remove the wand in only one pull because pumping the mascara will allow air into the tube, potentially dye out the formula and introduce bacterias into it.

When using mascara twirl the brush in the applicator, don't pump. Pumping pushes air into the tube causing your mascara to dry out faster.

For lower lashes, either apply by stroking from base to tip like on upper lashes or hold the wand vertically and using just the tip of the mascara brush coat the bottom lashes. Make sure you do not have any excess mascara on the tip or you will end up with a mascara blob. If needed, comb and then reapply.

Don’t apply mascara on the bottom lashes if you are prone to dark shadows under the eyes as it will only accentuate them.

If you suffer from stubby lashes, try a slick of Vaseline on them every night before bed.

Never share your mascara or other makeup products that come into contact with body fluids, because this will contaminate the products.

Use a thin and short brush for better hand control, so that it gets to the corner of the eye easily. You could also use powder under the eye before applying mascara to avoid smudging. However, if you use a gel-based mascara, it will play up the lashes. Give your thick mascara a more dramatic look, while also adding volume to your lashes.

Brown, navy and aborigine add subtle and sophisticated touches to your eyes, while burgundy looks striking on redheads. No matter what you decide, please don't match your mascara color with your eye color.
