How to buy good diamonds?

Diamonds are one of the most expensive jewels of this world. It doesn't mean that they are unaffordable because cheap diamonds are also available in the market. Moreover diamonds are available in many colors and several designs in the market, so people find it very difficult to buy a good diamond as they have no knowledge about it.
Due to huge variety of designs, some people find themselves unable to differentiate between two designs of diamonds which actually have some differences between them. Diamond rings are very common these days especially the diamonds rings and the diamond wedding rings. A diamond engagement ring generally has a small diamond in it, while a marriage diamond ring usually has white colored diamond of slightly bigger size.
Quality of diamond is determined by various factors. People like to have a very high quality diamond incorporated on their engagement and marriage diamond rings. A high quality diamond has very good shine and has a very long life.
Four major factors are responsible for quality of a diamond. The first factor is known as Cut. It is not the shape of diamonds but it refers to the plane in which the diamond is cut. This factor is responsible for the luminosity of a diamond. If a diamond is cut shallow and wide, light rays will pass through it without any reflection to the eye. This property makes this diamond less radiant and hence of low quality. If a diamond is cot with thin, the light will pass through its sides and will not be reflected back; hence this diamond is also of low quality. There are some non-profit rating systems which rate diamonds on the basis of their quality. A diamond having a good or very good rating is generally used by people in their engagement ring as well as in the wedding ring.
The second property which determines quality of a diamond is known as clarity. It is the number of visible flaws present in a diamond. There are some flawless diamonds available in the market but they are very expensive. Some diamonds have flaws in them which are only visible under a magnifier. These diamonds have a moderate price range and are generally used in diamond engagement rings and diamond wedding rings.
Another very important property to determine quality of the diamond is its color. A pure white and colorless diamond is very rare and is very expensive too. Diamonds are present in several colors in the market. Diamonds of blue and pink color are generally liked by the people in colored diamonds. Whiteness of diamonds is determined by their rating which ranges from D (pure white) to Z (light yellow). A diamond with rating up to J is considered as very good. Several non-profit organizations rate diamonds on the basis of their color. People like to have engagement and marriage diamond rings with white diamonds.
The last but very important factor in quality determination of a diamond is known as Carat. It is the measure of size or weight of a diamond. Size of the diamond should be in accordance with hand size of the recipient.
