Most everyone would go to great lengths so they could preserve their youthful looks, especially ladies. There are lot's of ways you can do that, however, none of them is as speedy and as efficient as Botox. However, before you grab your shoes and zoom off to the closest doctor, you might want to think of your options carefully if you wish to stay away from the possible dangers that comes with it.

What Is Botox Made Of?

Botox is a form of purified variant of the neurotoxin poison from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria, which could be very harmful to humans when ingested. Even small doses of botulinum toxin found in Botox can hinder the contraction of muscles for 3 to 4 months or longer. This was initially used to cure patients suffering from the symptoms of strabismus (crossed eyes) and blepharospasm (blinking in an uncontrollable manner.

When taken as a cosmetic preparation, it will stop the contraction of the muscles in the area of the face that will temporarily take away wrinkles for up to 4 months. This result, however, could a little unpleasantness to the individual due to the side-effects, such as facial pain, numbness, bruising, nausea, or sometimes redness on the injection place after the procedure is done.

Is Botox Safe To Use?

In general, there are health groups that are against using Botox to remove the signs of aging. These individuals often point out the primary material that constitutes the ingredients in Botox that are known to be poisonous to the body. This is quite truthful.

Botox is only safe to take if you follow the right procedure. Really, the risk that comes with using this method to fight aging is mostly due to malpractice. Administering Botox without a doctor can cause health problems, and may even cause a person's death, when the correct dosage isn't followed. To keep this from happening, you should have a doctor or surgeon to give it to you.

To make this point very clear, there were some instances where some people were able to purchase Botox without the proper prescription from a licensed doctor. After the injection of Botox on their faces, they did not have any real problems; but instead, experienced the common side-effects that often accompany the treatment. After several days, some of these people showed adverse signs of allergic reactions that was followed by health complications that later caused their demise.

Consulting with your doctor is the right way to use this method without risk to your health. It is advisable that you first consult a health care professional if you are healthy enough for a Botox shot, as well as making sure that you won't have an allergic reactions after the Botox is administered on your skin.
