Is It Time To Change Your Shampoo And Conditioner?Submitted by mjjames1 Wed, 7 Jan 2009
If your hair is not looking or feeling as good as it normally does, or perhaps it isn’t in as good a condition as it should be, then it could be down to your shampoo and conditioner. Or it may be due to the weather, your diet, or the environment.
If your diet is not as good as it should be, and there is not enough fresh fruit and vegetables in your meals, then you might well be missing out on vital vitamins and minerals that can help you have fantastic looking hair again. If your diet is good, then perhaps you’re not using the most appropriate hair products for your hair type. You might be using the cheapest products in order to try and save money. You might be using what you’ve always used, but this time they aren’t working as well as they used to. Perhaps you’re using something recommended to you by a friend that just doesn’t suit your hair. Why not make 2009 the year that everyone notices how fantastic your hair is? Changing your shampoo, conditioner and other haircare products can be a risky business. With so many different types to choose from, it can be difficult to ensure that you get the best for your hair without trying too many different products, and spending too much money. Depending on the ingredients, the shampoo or conditioner may come in attractive packaging, and contain mostly artificial ingredients such as colours and aromas to make sure that the product looks and smells nice, rather than performs well. Whilst a combination of your favourite fruits or smells might seem like a good idea for a shampoo, it’s not always going to provide the results that you want for your hair. More exclusive brands can initially appear to be expensive, but will last a long time, and can make a big difference to the condition and appearance of your hair. These brands may only produce shampoos or conditioners, and so have a lot of knowledge and experience about haircare, and know what works and what doesn’t. Nowadays, many shampoos and conditioners utilise plant extracts to help make hair shinier, healthier, and look better. How do you know that you are getting the right one for your hair types, and your needs? The specialised brands utilise more natural products in order to produce the best hair care products. Using fewer chemicals and artificial products has got to be better for your hair. These brands often use extracts from the whole of the plant, such as the root, bud, flower, fruit, gum, resin, sap and seeds. More general hair care products may just use the fruit or the seed. Stay-fresh packaging, such as glass bottles and aluminium tubes, means that less preservatives are needed, which means that the products are more natural, and that the products can do what they say on the tin. Now you know why spending more on your hair care products can save you money in the long term, isn’t it time you thought about changing your shampoo and conditioner?
