Biodegradable Sunscreen

Submitted by naturalremedies

There was a time when we didn't know tanning was bad for us. Back then, we would lie in the sun for hours, smothering ourselves with home made concoctions such as baby oil mixed with iodine, in an effort to increase that tan. Today, we know better - there is no such thing as a healthy tan.

To choose the right sunscreen, consider how vulnerable you are:

•#Skin color - Dark skin and deep tans tolerate the sun's rays more readily than fair skin. But no skin color is completely impervious to burn.

•#Weather conditions - Overcast skies can decrease the amount of harmful exposure. But sunlight does penetrate the clouds, so you still need to be careful.

•#Altitude - The higher up you are, the harsher the sun's rays (on skin and eyes). Reflection off of snow (or water) can add significantly to sunburn danger.

•#Length of exposure - The longer you're outside, the higher your risk of burn.

•#Pick a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against UV-A and UV-B rays and has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15.

•#Read product labels. Look for a waterproof brand if you will be sweating or swimming. Buy a nonstinging product or one specifically formulated for your face.

•#Buy a brand that does not contain para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) if you are sensitive to that ingredient.

•#Try a sunscreen with different chemicals if your skin reacts badly to the one that you are using. Not all sunscreens have the same ingredients.

•#Use a water-based sunscreen if you have oily skin or are prone to acne.

•#Be aware that more expensive does not mean better. Although a costly brand might feel or smell better, it is not necessarily more effective than a cheaper product.

•#Be aware of the expiration date because some sunscreen ingredients might degrade over time.

Biodegradable sunscreen is the only type of sunscreen that is allowed on any snorkeling tour, scuba diving trip, or other water activity inside Cozumel's protected marine park, or at the major parks like Chankanaab, Xcaret, Xel Ha, and Garrafon. This is not our rule, it is federal regulation, and it is enforced. Make sure you plan for this when coming to Cozumel.

Biodegradable sun block is environmentally friendly sunscreen that lacks the harmful ingredients that are destroying the world's coral reefs. These sunscreens are biodegradable, meaning they break down naturally in the environment, and eco-friendly, meaning that they minimize damage to the environment. We strongly encourage using only biodegradable sunscreen anytime you are going to be in the water.

Biodegradable sunscreen products are user-friendly and environment-friendly. Biodegradable sunscreen products are great for sensitive skin and give you just as much if not more protection than the old-fashioned kind of sunscreen or sun block. Be sure to only use products that are specially made for babies and children on the younger members of the family. Their skin is much more sensitive than adults and they need extra sensitive protection against not only the sun, but protection from allergic reactions as well. These are just some of the fine Biodegradable sunscreen products.
