Bloomex and the Canadian Cancer Society: A Blossoming Relationship

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, November 8th, 2009 --- Bloomex Canada is proud and honoured to announce the one-year anniversary of their partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society. The first year, which has been a major success, will be celebrated with a cheque presentation in November, where Bloomex will present $33,416.75 to the Society. Contributions have been raised through of the support of Bloomex customers who purchase special products from the popular Give Hope Collection.
"We were very pleased to partner with Bloomex this year," says Lesley Ring, Director, Corporate Development for the Canadian Cancer Society. "The tremendous support of their customers and employees for the Give Hope Collection has been inspiring. Through this campaign, Bloomex is giving hope to thousands of Canadians that one day we will find cures for all cancers."
Throughout this partnership, Bloomex Canada has raised funds in support of cancer research by donating a percentage of the sale, sometimes up to 20%, of specially-created floral arrangements. Successful arrangement promotions include the Give Hope Collection that was launched in August of 2008 and features 12 exclusive arrangements, plus a special edition Give Hope Basket that was available for the 2008 holiday season. For Valentine's Day 2009, the busiest month for the company, they created another special feature to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. It is through the sale of these products that Bloomex was able to raise the money to donate at the upcoming November cheque presentation.
In the future, both organizations plan to continue to work together to generate more funds for the Society to support research for this all-too-common disease. Jeff Godfrey, Marketing Manager at Bloomex says, "Cancer affects the lives of many Canadians, our employees and customers. As a Canadian company we want to contribute to our community and country.
