Getting that Bright, White SmileSubmitted by aimtoothpaste Mon, 20 Jul 2009
Everybody loves a bright white smile and if you want to improve yours there are different products and procedures available on the market. A couple of decades ago, if you wanted to whiten your teeth, you just brushed with whitening toothpaste. But now, newer and more effective at home teeth whitening
procedures are available. In-office teeth whitening is very effective, but it can also be time consuming and expensive. They also require frequent touch ups. Now there are several at home teeth whitening products, which give you the best teeth whitening results. Mainly, at home teeth whitening is done in three different ways. Brush on whitening is pretty much what it sounds like, just brush the formula on and allow it to dry on your teeth. The ingredients work on each individual tooth to give you visibly brighter teeth. The downside of this technique is that because of saliva, the formula cannot remain evenly dry on the teeth for the required time and the results may at times be blotchy. Teeth whitening strips are the second option. They are very simple to use and need absolutely no time to prepare. You just peel the strips off from the pack, stick them to the teeth and leave on for some time. The strips may be a little difficult to place on the lower teeth. Also, because of the natural recesses and grooves of the teeth, the ingredients on the strips may not come in contact with all parts of the teeth. Trays with bleaching gels are the most effective procedure that will give the best tooth whitening result. They are the most affordable and most efficient at home teeth whitening procedure. Most bleaching gels available at your dentists are essentially the same as that you buy over the counter in a bleaching tray. Be careful not to leave the bleach on for too long because it may lead to sensitive teeth. This is caused because of the glycerin that is used in the gel as a storing agent. Though there is nothing wrong with glycerin per se, it can draw moisture out of the enamel to speed up the bleaching process. This can be avoided with whitening kits that do not use glycerin as a base. Once you achieve the best tooth whitening results possible at home, it is important to follow it up with proper dental care. For people with teeth that are highly susceptible to decay, aim toothpaste would be a good option because it has extra fluoride. arm & hammer also has a wide range of dental care products that you can use on a daily basis. The arm & hammer teeth whitening booster which is used along with your regular toothpaste can help you maintain your bright pearly whites at home.
