Physical Symptoms of Anxiety

Submitted by Food Reviews
Sat, 19 Dec 2009

When your heart starts beating fast, this is not normal. However, it could be caused by being anxious about something. Feeling anxiety is very normal. If this starts happening all the time for no good reason and you start feeling physical symptoms, then it is time to get help.

The physical symptoms will depend on the severity of the panic attack. Some people have very mild symptoms, while others have symptoms that interfere with a normal life. Sometimes events remind you of things that happened in the past that upset you very much and causes you to become anxious.

The reason for your panic attacks can be very obvious, but in a lot of cases it happens for no known reason. That is why the subject is being researched right now in order to find out what causes the anxiety.

The findings should help teach us what causes attacks and why certain people are more apt to have them. Studies have shown that people with certain trait features are more susceptible to attacks.

The cause of anxiety attacks is still not known. One of the telling symptoms that an attack is coming on is the heart palpitations. You can't assume that this is the case all the time. If you are experiencing a racing heartbeat often, you should see your doctor as it could be something serious.

Another symptom is feeling as though you can't breathe. If you are struggling with catching your breath and have a racing heart, it certainly is very likely that you are experiencing an anxiety attack of some kind.

All people sweat in order to maintain their body temperature, but profuse sweating is not normal and could be caused by anxiety. You may also start to get shaky arms, hands and legs. Your stomach could start aching but you can't assume that this is an anxiety symptom.

It is always best to talk with your doctor when you feel any new pains. Chest pain is the most common sign of having an anxiety attack, though most people think of heart attack first.
