Eczema Oil Treatments

Submitted by Melanie Nader

Dry, itchy, red, irritated skin is very uncomfortable and can cause you a lot of trouble. Besides being uncomfortable, it can cause embarrassment if the rash is severe. If you are experiencing these symptoms with your skin you could be suffering from eczema. Eczema is a medical condition in the dermatitis form that causes inflammation of the skin that result in itching and redness. Eczema can be easy to treat. The best type of treatment that your skin will benefit the most from is using natural skin care products.

Natural products are less abrasive and don't have harsh chemicals in them that will worsen the condition of your skin. A great treatment for eczema that is very effective is using natural, organic, eczema oil. There are different types of oil treatments that will reduce the characteristics of eczema such as inflammation, itching, redness, and rashes.

A classic oil for treatment is made from emu oil. This type of natural oil replenishes your skin's moisture and replaces the lost oil your skin can't produce. Emu oil contains five natural ingredients that help reduce the effects of having eczema which are: terpines, oleic acid, vitamin E, vitamin A, and sapogens. All of these ingredients naturally help skin repair.

A common household ingredient found in almost every kitchen around the world that can be used to treat eczema is olive oil. What makes this oil treatment great is the fact that olives contain polyphenols which are full of rich antioxidants which protect body cells. Olive oil softens the skin and has been used for centuries, especially in Greek cultures.

Another type of oil that can be used for treatment that can be easily found in a grocery store is coconut oil. It provides temporary relief for eczema flare ups, but also has long term healing benefits. The oil protects our skin and isn't harsh because the oil is unrefined. Coconut oil contains a lot of vitamin E and other antioxidants. It makes your skin soft because it gently removes the dry, irritated, outer layer of skin, and at the same time it soaks deep into the tissue to moisturize and protect the deep layers of skin.

Flaxseed oil, another oil treatment, was produced and cultivated more than 6,000 years ago in Europe and has become a great organic treatment for eczema. Flaxseed oil has a lot of essential fatty acids which help reduce inflammation. Essential fatty acids protect our cell membranes and keep the skin healthy and moisturized. It acts as a natural anti-inflammatory.

Organic oils provide the most effective and safe treatment for eczema. The natural oils are soothing and don't contain harsh chemicals that can make the symptoms worse.
