The senses of sight is perhaps the most important of the five senses nature has give to man. A sightless man is a pitiable sight. Anything that interferes with your vision is irritating and a danger to the capacity to see is the most serious danger of all. You must, therefore, take care of your eyes.
The importance of the eyes to the human beings need not be emphasized. Eyes provide us sight, without which life would lose most of its meaning. But at the same time, eyes are constantly exposed to the external environment. Almost everyone in the world overworks their eyes, due to which several eye problems occur. The list of problems that occur with the eyes is almost endless. But even then, are we taking adequate care of our eyes? This article provides some valuable tips on care of the eyes. Tips 1. The favorite cucumber to take away the puffiness in the eyes. Get a quarter of cucumber and slice them thinly. Before putting the cucumber on your eyelids, spritz your eyes with water. Allow the cucumber to remain in your eyes for ten minutes while you lie back and relax. 2. Maintaining the health of your eyes is of utmost importance, and protecting them from harmful UV rays from the sun is an important step to take. Choosing sunglasses with a proven level of AV protection is a great place to start. Many of the most current, trendy styles include such protection. 3. When reading by artificial light, a tall table lamp with a 150-watt bulb is recommended. Place the lamp on the table to the left of your chair. In order to avoid reflected glare on the printed page, try this simple test: Place a small pocket mirror in the center of the page. If the light bulb is reflected in the mirror, move the lamp until there is no place on the printed page where your eyes can see the light in the mirror. 4. You could also start a daily routine of very simple exercises to help improve your eyes and the appearance of the surrounding skin. One excellent exercise involves sitting down and rubbing your hands together. The friction from the rubbing will heat your palms. 5. After having a taxing day, your eyes get tired too like your body and mind. So do make it a point to refresh your eyes. For refreshing your eyes, try squeezing cotton pads out of ice water and place them on eyelids for at least 20 minutes. This will give a soothing effect to your eyes. 6. Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis) The Indian gooseberry, known as amalaki, is exceptional in treating ocular problems. It can bring relief in both conjunctivitis and glaucoma. Its juice is taken with honey for better effects. 7. Touch the underside of the neck with your chin and then move your head as far back as you can. Move your head in a circular motion so that it touches first the right and then the left shoulder. Then move in the reverse direction touching first the left and then the right shoulder.
