Falling Hair

Submitted by indika72000

If you’ve ever suspected that you are suffering from falling hair after sweeping around the house, then it can be a disturbing and distressing experience. After all, our hair and how we cut and style it is an essential part of our image.

It is important though to recognize the difference between falling hair as a result of normal circumstances, for example the age of the hair, or if there is an abnormal amount of hair falling out. Hair, as part of it’s normal growth pattern does fall out naturally once it reaches a certain age, to be replaced (usually) by new hair growth.

If you suspect that your falling hair is more than normal, then the first thing to do is take a step back and not panic. I know, this can be hard to do, but it is essential in order to ascertain if you are just imagining things or if there is indeed more hair falling out than normal.

Once you are certain that more hair is falling out than normal, you should consult a medical professional to establish if there is an underlying medical cause that needs to be treated. At the same time, you should also look at your lifestyle to see if you can identify any possible contributory factors.

For example, if you perm or bleach your hair on a regular basis, or perhaps you have been severely or frequently ill over the last few months then both of these could be the cause of your falling hair. A poor diet or too much work or tension could also be to blame.

Unfortunately once your hair has started to fall there is no magic way that you can re-grow it. But what you can do is to change your diet and lifestyle to promote healthy and strong hair growth. Simple things like shampooing regularly with a mild shampoo to keep your scalp clean will help. Furthermore, ensuring that your zinc and vitamin intake are at the recommended daily levels is important, as both of these vitamins are important for healthy hair growth. Likewise vitamins B, C and E are also good for promoting healthy hair growth.

Even though falling hair can be distressing, what you need to realize is that it is a symptom of your body telling you that something is wrong. The sooner you can identify the cause and take the appropriate measures to treat it, the sooner your falling hair should stop.
