Diet Pills Do Not Replace ExerciseSubmitted by galaxywd Thu, 5 Jun 2008
If you have been thinking about losing weight, you have probably been overwhelmed by the vast numbers of diet pills that are on the market today. Fat burners, appetite suppressants, and energy boosters are everywhere, but the question is, do they really work? If any of them do, then which ones are the best? Which ones are really safe to use? They all claim to be safe and effective, but those of us who have tried some of them know that many never work as well as they claim.
When you use diet pills and other related items, you are probably unnaturally altering the chemistry of your body. Some of these pills can cause nervousness, sleeplessness, and make you abnormally jittery. These are really not side affects that you will enjoy. Starving your self as a means to losing weight never works for long. You might very well drop several pounds quickly, but the biggest let down is that once you stop taking the pills, it is easy to gain the weight right back again. The tried and true method for losing weight and getting in shape does not come in a pill. It requires changing the foods you eat and the amounts of those foods that you consume. Even when you do that it can still be difficult to lose those extra pounds that you have packed on without exercise. The downside of dieting with pills and no exercise is that you are still not really making your body that much healthier. You are not toning muscles and improving your cardio. Actually, some of these dieting aids might even damage your heart. Along with losing weight, you should also want to become healthier over all and you can not accomplish this without exercise. If you are really over weight and you know it, the best place to start is by seeing your doctor. It is always recommended that you see your doctor before you start making drastic changes in diet and exercise. You need to be checked out physically and make sure what you need to be doing. Your doctor will probably be thrilled that you are going to make the effort to become healthier. Once you have your dietary changes planned and have determined how much exercise you will need to accomplish your targeted weight goal, think about how you are going to get your exercise. There are many different options to choose from. Low impact aerobics is how many people start off and then work their way up to more strenuous stuff. You might visit a gym and use some of the equipment that they have available. If you find some pieces of equipment that seem especially effective for you, consider investing in something similar for your home. About the Author
