Exercise For A Longer LifeSubmitted by galaxywd Thu, 5 Jun 2008
There are a multitude of reasons that many of us come up with that we use as excuses to not exercise like we should. Here are some of the most common excuses: I am too over weight to get mobilized. I am just too tired to exercise. I do not have time to exercise. I am too old to exercise. There are some other really silly reasons too, but these are used most often. The truth is if you exercise regularly your chances of living longer increase.
If you know you are over weight, this is the best reason to exercise. Being over weight can cause all kinds of health related issues. Of course, you should always see your doctor before start any kind of exercise program. When you have been out of shape an unexercised for a long time, you should always start out slow and it will probably be necessary to make changes in your diet and eating habits as well. It is not that difficult if you are set on becoming healthier and smaller. Determination must become your new best friend. If you think that you are too tired or too busy from work and kids and you think you get enough exercise, chances are you are not getting the right kind of exercise. Running around all day from place to place all stressed out usually just causes more emotional and physical tension. Getting the right kind of exercise for all your muscle groups in a relaxed environment will make you feel better over all. There is a big difference in being physically fit and worn out. Just try to set aside half an hour at least twice a week and follow an exercise program that will work for you. You will be surprised after a few months how much better you feel. You might even begin to look at it as personal time for yourself. If you are beginning to think you are too old for an exercise program that is probably not true either. If you have no major health issues and are still in good enough shape to walk around and do daily activities, then you should be able to exercise. You should see a doctor before you start a program and get his recommendations as to what you may or may not be capable of doing. Exercise is likely to make you feel younger than you have in years. You may not be able to run a marathon, but your chances of feeling better and adding a little more time to your life is a pretty good bet. About the Author
