Exercise Regularly-Your Life May Depend On ItSubmitted by galaxywd Thu, 5 Jun 2008
Unless you have been living on another planet these past many years then you have undoubtedly heard about how important it is to eat a healthy diet and try to get plenty of exercise. The problem with that is we love to eat foods that are not really healthy for us and these foods can weigh us down and make our bodies feel sluggish. This can diminish the desire to exercise. How can you go about making these changes when you work all the time and always feel tired?
Small changes one at a time is said to be the best way to make new habits in your life that will last. Many times people will make those resolutions at the beginning of a new year when they vow to give up everything bad for them and decide to dedicate themselves totally to making over their lifestyle. This always sounds good in theory, but it rarely ever works because it can be overwhelming. It is never good to totally deprive yourself of foods that you like completely unless you have an order from your doctor to stay away from something entirely. Learning to eat healthy does not mean you can never ever again have a piece of chocolate cake. Learning to exercise does not mean that you have to spend two hours a day going at it like a fanatic. Try making out a menu for your weekly food intake and make a conscious effort to add in foods that are high in nutrition and low in calories, fat, and cholesterol. Pick two to three days a week when you can fit in some exercise like walking, jogging, dancing, swimming, or a sport activity that will get your heart pumping a little bit. If you will work out in some form or another you will be working your muscles and burning calories. As you begin to feel better over a few weeks, then if you want to delve in a little deeper this would be great. Once you realize that you can stick to a smaller routine with food and exercise, you will find it easier to make additional sacrifices and it may not be overwhelming like trying to do it all at once might do. When you change your habits for the better you can add years to your life not to mention the quality will be better too. You will feel younger and look better. About the Author
