Exercising To The Music Makes Workouts EnjoyableSubmitted by galaxywd Thu, 5 Jun 2008
Exercise is sweeping the world like never before. People are becoming more and more conscious of how much exercise they get all in the name of living longer and healthier lives. It has been proven many times that getting the right amount of exercise will do just that. There are so many ways to get exercise and many choose to get their exercise while listening to some great music.
Music can be a wonderful motivator for exercise. Certain kinds of music will just automatically make you want to move. You could watch television or sit at your computer all day everyday and not be inspired to move a muscle more than you have to, but when you turn on some music that has a lively beat or rhythm you can feel an overwhelming desire to get up and get down. Aerobic exercise has long been known to use music to get people moving enough to get their heart rate going good and it really makes the whole experience more fun and less like a grueling work out that you might dread if it was not accompanied by some music. No one wants to stand there huffing and puffing in the quiet just listening to their own heavy breathing. Add a little sound and it becomes a whole new thing. Even as joggers and walkers are doing their thing most of the time you will see as they go by that they have on ear phones connected to their MP3 player or I pod. Oh, they could be listening to some motivational stuff, but chances are it is some great rhythm that is helping them to keep their stride. If you want to shape up and get fit for your health but you hate the idea of exercise routines, try it with music if you have not before. You will likely stay with the program a little longer and work at it a little harder if you have some music you really enjoy listening to playing in the background to help promote your movement and distract you from the strain of working out. It is always wise to check with your doctor before you begin an exercise program, especially if there is a question about you health. He might dictate to you the amounts of and kinds of exercise that you should be doing, but at least the selection of music that you choose to accompany the exercise can be left entirely up to you.
